  • The word you're trying to use is "which", not "witch" (that's the character w/ a black pointy hat on a broom). I just answered your repeat of this question. My vote is for OHVA. I've used the K12 curriculum they use for 5.5 years with my son and it's fantastic. Their online school system is wonderful also. They all are public schools, so you'll get a diploma with any of them. Most virtual schools do not supply lap tops; they loan out desktops, a printer, and sometimes reimburse you for all, or part of, your 'net access. You should know that in a virtual public school you can't necessarily "go at your own pace". There will still be a school calendar, and deadlines and due dates and exams - just like a B&M school. Here's OHVA's site: http://www.k12.com/ohva/

  • Regardless of which school you pick, you will be assigned courses that you must complete. You will have due dates for when assignments are due and if you don't submit work, you may be withdrawn and have to return to your old school. It is possible that you might be able to complete the classes early but that may depend on the school's policies and/or the teacher. I know some teachers allow students to work ahead while others follow a strict schedule. Most likely you will receive a desktop computer, monitor, and printer that you will use at home. That said, you probably will also be able to use your own computer to access the lessons if you want to. With most of the schools, if you go on vacation, you can take your laptop or visit a library and log into the school to complete lessons. I'm not familiar with BOSS, but the rest of the schools are public schools and you will receive a diploma if you complete the classes that you are assigned.
  • I am a sophomore in highschool, and know some people that have tried online school, but I'm a little lost on it. I was under the impression my own school ran its own person online school, and all I needed to do was consult my school and have them sign me up. But I'm now wondering, is online highschool on the internet, or a program you download, or what? And should I call my school to ask about it, and if so, what should I say? Any information you have about this is very important to me. Thanks :)
  • well i know k12 is free and connection academy (depends on your state if you goverment pays for it and allows it) just type those in google and check .its a online school where you just have your own schedule get free loaned computer printer and a few things more FREE! also if you live in ohio tehy have ecto for every ohio REsident .i know lauren springs in also available for high schooler. (i wish you included your state) and i think time4 learning is for highschool (feel free to check) its $20 per month membership) if u decide to enroll depending where you live if u started school bareley or already make sure you apply part time.if you doing a random online school check tuition, registration fee,and if there`s a course how much it is sometimes they ask for credit card and rip u off.But if you go one almost all set up make sure to go to your school district and (if you already payed for your school) they might pay it themselves.Or ask of any (your state) online schools.Make sure your school sighns you up.online school is normal school exept you do it on your pace and anywhere plus sleep late as long as you do it. i did alot of research of online schools so i hope this information is accurate good luck *(:
