Frequently asked questions about north dakota loans

  • This is a regulatory issue. North Dakota has the weakest anti-usury laws in the nation. As a result, creditors love to be based in ND so that they are able to raise interest rates to higher levels, even when the account holders are in other states.
  • Actually big business shys away... The cost of building is astronomical because the ground doesn't thaw out until june and refreezes in August... Too short of a building season to build big businesses. So build small buildings and finance people come... Build it and they will come.... but if they build small...they get small....lol
  • Find an unmet need that is also something you like to do. Complete a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis http://www.businessballs.com/swotanalysi... and write a business plan to prove that the business idea is workable. Go to http://sba.gov/smallbusinessplanner/plan...http://www.bplans.com/ or http://www.score.org/template_gallery.html for instructions on how to write a business plan and sample business plans.
  • What type of business are you an EXPERT in? You should only invest in a business that you have extensive knowledge and experience in running. Best wishes and good luck.
  • I thought about how much money credit card companies make and with bizare ideas flying about reducing the deficit. A thought came to me that the Government could start its own credit card company to raise money. Since the government makes the laws they could require that all buissnesses take these government credit cards. This could raise millions maybe even billions of dollars for the government and they could be competitive charging lower interest rate depending on peoples credit say 10-15% interest. They could offer special rewards for veterans and smalll buissnesses and groups of people hit by the recession. So what do you think of this idea.
  • North Dakota has a state-owned bank that can give loans and occasional relief to private banks. However, there is no FDIC protection, and as such having a credit card would be problematic. And if you think 10-15% interest is low, you probably don't have a credit card. I currently pay 3.5%.
  • Interest rates fall under monetary policy- which means no government intervention! The money banks get comes from the Federal Reserve. Also, our economy is based on capitalism which demotes government from owning any businesses! If the government opened up a credit card business our taxes would most likely go up (at least on the middle class and above), we would go even more in debt, and it would generally be badly received by the public.
