  • study & pray to God & everything'll b ok. (i do that because i know that if i don't have enough faith then atleast the studing part'll help)
  • I live in Silver Spring, Maryland and am turning sixteen in two months. I have been looking for a job since I was fourteen-even if the chances were nearly none- and now I'm almost sixteen. I don't know where are likely places to look for. I don't have a problem cleaning or anything. I just don't want to work at a fast food place like McDonalds. What are some suggestions on getting a job and where are easy places to find a job at? I live close to a mall and really close to a local grocier store and CVS.
  • it's leaf-raking season. i'd say to hell with the job, just get a ten dollar leaf rake, carry it on your bike with gator clamps and a piece of pvc pipe (horizontal works best) and go knocking on doors. i knew a guy who was charging 15-20 bucks a lawn and he could get a lawn done in 20 min! he was making good cash and didn't have to put up with some azzhole boss disrespecting him all the time. then with the money i make doing that i'd get a lawnmower and a weed wacker and a truck, and make money doing lawns most of the rest of the year, then in winter i'd get a snow shovel or a snow plow attachment (maybe too spendy though) and shovel them walks and driveways! and if things are slow doing that i'd get a squeegee with long extension pole and wash windows downtown at stores. jobs are for people with no ballz, make your own money and be a tuff!
  • No matter where you go, you're going to have to start at the bottom, which means you need to be willing to do the jobs that nobody else wants to do. I started as a dishwasher in a restaurant and within a year was a lead line cook and in 2 years I was running my own kitchen. I have since been Kitchen Manager and Store Manager of several restaurants. I'm so happy I was able to learn a trade and always have something to fall back on. No I am in sales and am making so much more money than I even know what to do with. My suggestion, learn a trade while pursuing your dreams. Don't settle for a "job" where someone else gets to decide what kind of lifestyle you live.
  • Definitely get a job. It will do GREAT things for your resume when you enter college and/or work later in life, even if it does not pay much. Money is NOT the most important think: getting experience to put on resumes is. Best think to do is freelance work IE doing things on a one-time basis informally. Things like designing someone's web page for them, fixing their PC, changing the oil on their car, helping proofread their documents, babysitting.... You don't have to be "signed" onto a huge company like KFC to work. Or simply try to find a place willing to give you an unpaid internship...and then a couple years later you can use those skills to land a job that pays MUCH more than people your age can usually earn: think of it as a long-term investment.
  • I need a job too. I'm 15 turning 16 in a couple of months and trying to find a job. Try Cvs. Good luck.
  • You can work stores in the mall like foot locker, delias and just simple store like that and if they don't have an "searching for workers" sign then go in and ask if they are willing to hire you and they'll give you a job application and stuff.I recommend working at you facorite clothing store because you'll know when they're gonna get in the new clothes and employees get an employee discount
  • hunting for a job is tough, especially if it's a long time since you last did it! I was jobless over the past few weeks, but I unearthed the site in the box below which is extremely helpful in lots of ways. By following their tips, in a couple of weeks I soon got myself a job.
  • I would say work at the grocery sore or CVS as a stocker.
  • I didn't realize I was going that fast and was pulled over and given a speeding ticket in Fairfax Virginia. I want to contest it in court but is it worth it because I don't want my insurance to go up. I heard it's hard to get out of a ticket. I had a minor one 3 years ago but it should be off my record... What should I do?
  • Wow. You were given a ticket one mile under the limit for Reckless Driving. (In VA, a ticket for Reckless Driving from Speed is 20 mph over the stated limit or over 80 mph.) You stated that you had no clue how fast you were going. Knowing VA cops, you were probably going over 80 but the officer cut you a break. Have you had any prior driving offenses? If yes, then just pay the ticket. If no, then you have an opportunity. If this is your first driving offense, then you can go to court and plea guilty but ask to be allowed to go to Driving School. You will have to pay court costs, however you can pay for the driving class (in VA) and then submit the paperwork back to the courts. The courts will then dismiss the speeding charge and you will not get points on your record. If you have one or two traffic offenses on your record, but have not taken a drivers safety course then you may still be in luck. However, if you have a horrible record then the judge will not consider it. Dress appropriately for court. Bring a copy of your driving record. Be respectful to the judge. Follow all instructions. Often the judges will take all of the traffic cases first, but not always. Call the courts and find out if they will take payment in Credit or Check. Most courts only take Cash and even if you get Traffic School you will still have to pay a Court Fee. (The fee may be around $60.) I hope that this helps. Good luck!
  • How approximately taking accountability to your irresponsible and detrimental riding? Pay the price ticket, take the elements and ask that your license no longer be suspended. Since the penalties are fairly prime right here, an lawyer who makes a speciality of visitors legislation maybe a well funding. My wager is your coverage premiums are going to skyrocket too.
  • thats some pretty hefty speeding....and you probably wont win it.....just pay the fine and move on. and STOP SPEEDING!
  • I'm a wristwatch fanatic. Too the extreme... My grandfather was a Watchmaker, who I used to work with during the summer time to make some extra change as a boy growing up in Maryland.. His Watch Fix Store was located right on the Maryland waterfront, and we used to sit out and fix watches, while watching boats pass in the distance.. It's probably one of my most cherished memories.. Fast forward 25 years.. Now I'm married. I still have an affinity for watches, I enjoy buying watches, fixing em up, then selling em.. Rolex's, Bell and Ross, high label watches.. You name it.. I also do it to make a little extra cash, I actually make next to zero profit, but It's fun just to have the chance to work on watches.. It gives me something to do, and keeps me busy.. The Wife "AKA" BossHOG. Think's it's silly, she see's no Point in me doing this.. Sometimes I will work on a watch for months, and bring it from dead to brand new condition.. When I take it and show her, she doesn't even pretend to be impressed or ecstatic. She basicly just says " another watch huh".. After I fix em I flip em on Ebay and make a nice pot of money, then I buy another broke down nice watch to work on... Well. Recently she told me " My watch days are over". She thinks I'm investing too much money and time into this hobby.. I don't think it's fair, she didn't even ask me my opinion, and I'm very soft spoken when it comes to defending myself against her.. I don't go after her hobbies, I don't make nasty comments to her about her endless Hobo bag shopping spree's, or buying cute outfits for our little dog that she carries everywhere.. So recently I bought a brokedown watch and I've been working on it at night while she sleeps.. Today I realized that I'm a grown man. I have to hide nothing form her.. I pay the mortgage here, my day job is still in tact infact I got promoted last December to a much better paying position.. Should I have to hide my Hobby from her?
  • As long it isn't interfering with any responsibilities, there is no reason you shouldn't enjoy your hobby. Why she wouldn't want you to have one is beyond me. Ask her why she wants you to stop working on watches. Maybe she has a good reason even though it isn't apparent now. If she doesn't, don't stop your hobby. Don't hide it from her, either though. Hiding things from your spouse is just asking for trouble.
  • Why don't you grow a set and instead of complaining online, tell her. Since you are so soft-spoken and can't defend yourself - she has to be the head of the household. Don't you do anything around the house except fix watches? You are supposed to pay the mortgage! I think it is a fine hobby and wouldn't mind if my husband had a skill like that and had fun doing it - being creative, etc. But if the expense overrides the income and the money is needed elsewhere - then you both need to compromise on the watches and doggie clothes and she should be glad that you're not in her face all the time. Or does she have to compete for your attention with a broken Rolex? Are you more comfortable with a ticking timepiece or a beating heart? The watch doesn't require conversation and you are in control. Dude - that's it!! You need to send ME a Rolex for dropping this knowledge on you! The most infuriating thing to a woman is that you are wimpy - you have established that trait - so now don't start getting a base in your voice telling her, "this is how it's going to be or else" - or your butt will be sitting on the dock of the bay - watches and all.
  • Never show weakness to a woman. That doesn't mean you have to be an ***, but never show weakness, they'll despise you if you do. "I'm sorry to hear you feel that way." is a good phrase to use while you go ahead and do what you want anyway. Another ploy is to give her something else to worry about instead. Like start going out late with guys she doesn't trust. Get a tatoo, **** like that. Give her a good scare and she'll be happy to see you back at your watches. Good luck
  • you have an addiction and like every addiction need help to stop. You addiction is affecting you financially and personal relationships too. you first stated you make no money and they later you say you do. My guess is you do not make a profit. People can get addicted to computer games etc yours is watches. now you are asking if you should HIDE YOUR HOBBIE another sign of an addictive person. Try to stop for a few months and see what happens go get counseling.
  • she shouldnt stop you but if money is getting tight in your household maybe cut down for a while but if you can afford it with all the others you pay out i wouldnt see why not my hubby likes to play world of warcraft i dont like it but its something he enjoys so i let him do it and he needs money every month for that.
  • Just keep keeping on...do your thing. Ask her if she would prefer you take up another hobby, like porn, or golf? What exactly would make her happy? (and does it matter?) IF you aren't hurting HER (and it doesn't sound as if you are), then you just keep on keeping on....
  • your wife has absolutely no right to keep you from your passion. if you can afford your hobby, keep doing it. no offense but she sounds more than bossy. she sounds pretty bitchie.
  • thanks for sharing that, dude. it's just one more reason why a dude should never get married.
