Frequently asked questions about online loans kentucky

  • I know I have to take courses like emt- basics, emt- advanced, then finally emt- paramedics. But is this like an independent study? Can I get scholarships to pay for the classes ? Will my grades in high school give me grant money? Do my grades even matter? Does it even matter that Im in Beta Club and FBLA? Or will I still end up paying the same amount of money as someone with straight Ds and almost failing high school??? I live in Kentucky by the way. Im wondering because I want to become a paramedic and in one of my senior classes we have to find a college that we want to go to and pick a scholarship or acceptance essay they offer to write.
  • Usually the Paramedic training is a tech certificate at a tech school. There will be loans available but it is doubtful there will be many if any grants available for this short program. There is no college degree required in the US for Paramedic except for one or two states. Most of the training can be done in a year or less. If you do choose a community college, you do not have to get the degree but rather just go through the cert portion and skill all the general ed and science classes. Tech schools are very lenient on their entrance requriements so grades will not be of concern. However, if you change your mind or want to advance your education later, it would be wise to keep up your grades. There are a few online programs available for EMT thru Paramedic. Most are located in Texas but you may be able to do them and then attend a week or two for the skills portion. http://percomonline.com/EMT-Paramedic.ph... http://www.trainingdivision.com/emt-trai...
  • There are usually three paths to Public Paramedic Certification: private technical college/program, public program (like community college), or military medic certification (this would require you to challenge the test once you are honorably discharged). Private schools tend to be easier to get into as they have less public funding but they may be more expensive; grants and scholorships are stil possible but largely you must work these out on your own initiative. Public colleges usually are less expensive and more resources are available to help you complete and pay for your courses. But there may be a wait list for special courses or prerequiesite courses, this can delay entry into field by as much as 2 years in some communities. Military is easy but being a medic you are exposed to the possibility of injury or death. But all training is paid for and you can recieve guarantees for college after service.
