Frequently asked questions about cash for gold delaware

  • The small villages/ townships were created in a way that those who came along to first create them had to have a skill that a tiny community needed to survive. Once these first few were established and thriving in harmony others began to arrive to join them. A starter colonies most important needs were addressed first and foremost. In a starter colony you would need people who were skilled in : Leadership/ a mayor, and law enforcer. Farmers for crops of the earth. Farmers for raising and tending livestock Black smith to repair and create tools, weapons and such. Women to milk the cows, make the cream, sew the clothes, teach in the schools, cook, administer aid to the sick. A doctor that could also tend to sick live stock. Strong out doors type men that are skilled at weapons to hunt and to fend off hostile Indians. This would be the kind of list to make up a good starter colony. Sadly though if but one skilled person dies it can have a devastating effect on the entire colony. Say it's the start of winter and the doctor dies of snake bite....Or the black smith dies and now there is no one to repair the tools and weapons.... Many citified men like accountants and book keepers and bankers were pretty much useless if they were needed to replace the skills of a hunter of a black smith.....Many of this sort of skill had never even lived in the country much less had to survive in the wilderness.. These people quickly did the best they could to create a township as civilized as possible. Building immediate temporary shelters to to live in as the land was cleared for permanent homes to be built. While the men did this the woman quickly cleared enough land to grow as much crops as possible to survive the first winter for all......Evenings when darkness fell the chore of building furniture and weaving & mending clothes began.Usually they all came together by the second summer to build a church which also substituted for a school and a courtroom. These people had to work closely together for the first few years to truly establish the town from the ground up.Paper money was scarce at first. Bartering became the true first means of acquiring what one needed whether it was a necessity or a simple want. People quickly worked all winter to create hand made goods to sell to the new arrivals on the ships soon to come. Each ship brought more people and more money. Soon the barter system was less favorable to some then cold hard cash and gold, and a bank would be established for savings and loans.
  • HUGE distinction among social classes. Slaves were at the bottom, at the top, wealthy land owners, down south they had plantations, northern colonists tended to be english. In order of rank: from lowest to highest black slaves, indentured white servants (waifs, wayward people who came over from England, criminals, this was a large number of people at this level), traders/merchants/shop keepers/small farm owners. The top of social order was the white magistrates, clergy, professional men, professors and of course, the large land owners who were the richest people usually. In the south, they were the ones with the big plantations. In new york, they estabilished the big estates on the hudson. They were big into ancestry and family heritage.
